Recipe for Fun: Kid's Pizza Party
Throwing a quick pizza party at home is always popular with kids and does not require a lot of advance planning depending on how elaborate you want the event to be. If you’re really spontaneous, you can skip formal invitations in the mail and simply invite your guests by phone. Ordering a bunch of pizzas with kid-friendly toppings from your favorite pizzeria means your pizza party can be a one-day event if needed. Your party can go from concept to reality in just a few hours thanks to your local pizza take-out and delivery service. Although, if you do have time to plan ahead it might reduce your guest’s scheduling conflicts and increase your attendance-to-invitation ratio.
Kid's Pizza Party Ideas:
Ordering all your pizzas in the smallest size available means more pizzas and more variety.
Ask your local pizzeria to slice your pizzas in extra small slices that are easy for small hands to grasp.
If you’re throwing a pizza birthday make a “pizzeria” sign for the front door with the birthday child's name on it (“Sally’s Pizzeria”).
Use red and white checkered table cloths for a more realistic pizzeria atmosphere.
If you plan to serve cake as dessert, decorate it like a big pizza with pepperoni and black olive toppings made of the appropriate frostings. You can also make cup cakes that look like tiny pizzas.
Increase the “Italian theme” with small side dishes of spaghetti, salad and perhaps even garlic bread (if the kids are not toddlers).
Decrease your clean-up duties by using disposable picnic-ware like paper plates and cups along with plastic utensils.
“Pin the pepperoni on the pizza” is a simple game to create that kids will enjoy.
You can create little “chef’s hats” for the kids using stapled white paper bands topped with tissue paper for the “fluffy” tops.
Ask your pizza supplier for a few extra pizza boxes (size small) so your guests can take home any leftover pizza in clean containers.
