The Chuck E. Cheese chain currently exists in seven countries worldwide, but the franchise has never ventured into Mexico in its more than 30-year history. That situation recently changed with the announcement that the popular pizza franchise will develop ten new Chuck E. Cheese's restaurants in Northeastern Mexico. President and CEO of CEC Entertainment Inc., Michael H. Magusiak, recently said "International development provides us with a significant long-term growth opportunity because of the strength of our brand and earnings model," and added "As we continue to expand globally, it is important to seek partnerships with people like Luis Guzman and his team who share the same passion, commitment and dedication we have for providing the best experiences for our guests at every Chuck E. Cheese's."

Luis Guzman is chief executive officer of CEC Franquicias South American business unit and he concurred with Magusiak when he said "The opportunity to become a part of the Chuck E. Cheese's family is a venture that our corporate group could not be more thrilled about, Families everywhere appreciate and love the Chuck E. Cheese's concept." Company spokesmen said the plans are to open new Chuck E. Cheese's restaurants in the cities of Monterrey, Torreon, Gomez Palacio, Tampico, Saltillo and Ciudad Victoria over the next five years.
